Sarawak election: PKR-DAP seats wrangle drags on

Stick to the agreed allocation and don't turn things ugly -- that's the message DAP has for PKR which today named 35 candidates and was still insisting on negotiating on five more seats in the upcoming state election.
DAP state chief Chong Chieng Jen said the party would "deal with it" should PKR clash against DAP in the areas for which it has already named its candidates.
"It has been agreed, don't reopen again. Otherwise we will have to reopen other seats like Batu Kitang, Layar and Telang Usan. Where is the end to this?" he said.
Chong announced yesterday that his party would contest 30 seats, but PKR state chief Baru Bian said today he still wanted to talk with DAP to avoid clashes in five constituencies.
The five are Mambong, Ngemah, Simanggang and the new seats of Mulu and Murum.
PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali was present when the PKR names were announced.
Nominations are set for Monday with polling taking place on May 7.
Asked if he met Azmin here, Chong said: "All negotiations have been completed. Azmin knows better than that."
PKR has already lost state vice-chairman Boniface Willy Tumek who quit, accusing the party of always giving in to DAP.
He was angry that PKR did not secure his nomination for Tasik Biru which will be contested by DAP.
