Sarawak polls: Adenan Satem announces Johnicol as BN candidate for Engkilili state seat
The announcement was made during his speech at Sejiwa Senada program in Padang KPS Lama, Sri Aman, on Saturday.
United People’s Party (UPP) member Dr Johnicol Rayong Ngipa was named today as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Engkilili state assembly seat in the upcoming 11th Sarawak state election.
Dr Johnical, an incumbent for the seat, contested under the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) during the previous poll.
The announcement was made by Sarawak chief minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem at the Sejiwa Senada program in Padang KPS Lama, Sri Aman, Saturday.
Adenan also confirmed that the incumbents for Lingga, Bukit Begunan, Batang Ai, Balai Ringin and Simanggang will be defending their seats as well.
They are Simon Peri, Datuk Mong Dagang, Malcolm Mussen, Snowdan Fighting and Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.
The Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will be dissolved on April 11 to make way for the state's 11th election.
The number of state assembly seats has also been increased by 11 to make a total of 82 seats, due to the recent redelineation exercise.
