Seat changes show opposition prioritises personal agenda than serving people
Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin said the attitude of the opposition politicians was different compared to those from the Barisan Nasional (BN).
The inclination of opposition party candidates to change their constituencies showed that they were more interested in their personal agenda than in serving the people.
Lembah Pantai UMNO division chief Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin said the attitude of the opposition politicians was different compared to those from the Barisan Nasional (BN) who constantly take care of their respective constituencies.
"Even when we (BN) lost our seats, we don't just change constituency, we are still serving our constituents, myself for example, even after I lost my seat in the last general election, I remain loyal here (Lembah Pantai).
"It is their prerogative to contest anywhere they like, but what is the reason for doing so? In my view, the way the opposition politicians always change their constituencies show that they don't really intend to serve their constituents, that if they do not move somewhere else to contest, then they will lose their current seat," he told Bernama after officiating the National Blue Ocean Strategy My Beautiful Neighbourhood (NBOS MyBN) in Little India, Brickfields, on Friday.
Raja Nong Chik said this when asked to comment on news reports that at least four leaders of the opposition Pakatan Harapan pact were preparing to contest in Johor in the 14th General Election.
The news report had named the leaders as PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president (PPBM) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang and Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub.
