See you in court, Ku Nan tells Anina
Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said he is ready to face Anina Saadudin in court over her sacking from the party.
UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said he is ready to face former Wanita UMNO member, Anina Saadudin in court over her sacking from the party.
“Let her sue. She has sued me, the Prime Minister and my secretary Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh. We will see her in court if we need to see her in court,” he said at a press conference today.
“I have done nothing wrong. She has done something wrong against my party. We do not need these kind of people in the party,” he said before describing Anina as a termite which can destroy a party.
He had earlier said Anina lost her UMNO membership effective September 2, following her actions that violated Clause 20.7 of the UMNO Constitution, which states that any party member who brings party affairs to the court will immediately lose their membership.
On Friday, Anina filed a lawsuit against Tengku Adnan for her sacking after she took Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to court over the RM2.6 billion donation.
She also named UMNO executive secretary Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh in her suit.
In her statement of claim, Anina claimed that Tengku Adnan had issued two letters to terminate her membership, with one dated September 2 issued on September 1, and another dated September 1 issued on September 2.
She wants the courts to nullify the two purported termination letters issued by Tengku Adnan.
Anina had been thrown into the spotlight following the widespread circulation of a 2.52-minute video clip last month in which she claimed that Najib had lied to the three million UMNO members regarding the RM2.6 billion deposited in the Prime Minister’s personal bank accounts.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had since said said the funds were campaign donations.
