Terengganu PAS will suggest to the Central PAS headquarters and the PAS Ulama Consultative Council to expel two Selangor state assemblymen from the party for ignoring the decision of the party over the Menteri Besar crisis in the state recently.
Terengganu PAS Commissioner Satiful Bahri Mamat said although investigation was ongoing on the two assemblymen, Terengganu PAS maintained the stand that both assemblymen should be expelled for affecting the party's image.
"Previously, PAS had also expelled several senior leaders of the party pertaining to problems of morality and discipline.
"This is also a lesson to everyone not to ignore the party in whatever crisis that may crop up, on the contrary, they should give full loyalty to the party," he told reporters at the Terengganu PAS Raya gathering here Thursday.
The move by the two assemblymen concerned, Saari Sungib (Hulu Kelang) and Hasnul Baharuddin (Morib) who gave their support to PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as the Selangor Menteri Besar had shocked many people as they had ignored the party directives.
In addition, Satiful Bahri said Terengganu PAS would also propose to the PAS Ulama Consultative Council and Central PAS to screen the list of candidates wishing to contest for posts in the coming PAS assembly.
