Selangor Menteri Besar: We leave the matter to the Sultan of Selangor to decide - PAS

PAS said it will leave the matter of appointment of Selangor Menteri Besar to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

“We will leave the matter to the discretion and wisdom of the Sultan to decide,” said PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali after the party’s central committee meeting today.

He however, declined to comment on whether the party will maintain its earlier stand that two MB candidates’ names would be given to the Sultan for consideration.

The party had earlier, nominated PKR deputy president Mohamad Azmin Ali’s name alongside Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for the MB position.

Meanwhile, Selangor MB Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will be seeking an audience with the Selangor Sultan tomorrow, seeking for advice on his status.

Sultan Sharafuddin, who was supposed to return to Malaysia from his trip overseas on Aug 27, did so four days earlier following the crisis.
