Selangor will continue to be known as Pakatan Rakyat govt - PKR veep

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) claims Selangor's administration will continue to be known as the Pakatan Rakyat government although the DAP-led Penang administration no longer wants to use that name.

PKR vice-president, Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said this was because the collaboration between PKR, DAP and PAS in Selangor was still continuing as usual.

He also denied suggestions of splits between the three parties, especially in Selangor as was the case in Penang.

"Selangor will continue to be known as the Pakatan Rakyat government because we (PAS, DAP and PKR) are still together in Selangor, we are still working together.

"So I want to say that there is no issue of the Selangor government 'rocking' because we are still a team," he told reporters after the monthly meeting of the party's central leadership council, here, on Saturday.

On Thursday, a news portal reported that Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng announced that Penang would no longer be labelled as the Pakatan Rakyat government, but will instead be known as Penang state government.
