One of the two early voting polling centres for Sungai Besar by-election, located at Sabak Bernam district police headquarters, for the Sekinchan state constituency, closed at 2pm today.
One of the two early voting polling centres for Sungai Besar by-election located at Sabak Bernam district police headquarters (IPPD) here, for Sekinchan state constituency closed at 2pm after opening since 8am today.
An Election Commission (EC) spokesman said the other polling centre also at Sabak Bernam IPPD for Sungai Panjang state constituency will remain open until 5pm.
As at 2pm, 91 per cent of the 286 early voters have fulfilled their civic duty.
Sekinchan state constituency has 21 registered early voters while Sungai Panjang has 265.
The by-election sees a three-cornered fight between Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, Budiman Mohd Zohdi, who is also Sungai Panjang assemblyman; PAS' candidate Dr Abdul Rani Osman, who is also Meru assemblyman; and Amanah's candidate Azhar Abdul Shukur, who represents the Pakatan Harapan.
A total of 42,655 normal voters will be casting their votes on June 18.
