KUALA LUMPUR : A special meeting of the Council of Malay Rulers is expected to be held at the Istana Negara on Sunday (October 25) to discuss some of the proposals presented by the government, especially on the spread COVID-19.
According to a source, the special meeting is scheduled to start at 2.30 pm and will only involve the Council of Rulers.

Quoting the source, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Mustafa Ri'ayatuddin Billah Shah has the right to declare a state of emergency but the matter would be discussed with the Malay Rulers.
It is understood that at least six sultans have already consented their attendance and all rulers are expected to attend the meeting.
Earlier, Istana Negara in a statement confirmed that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong received a briefing by the Prime Minister on the proposals reached by the Special Meeting of the Cabinet in Putrajaya yesterday.
Following that, His Majesty will hold talks with the Malay Rulers to discuss and study the proposals put forward by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
