Stay out of Penang's affairs, Guan Eng tells Azmin

Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng today reminded Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali to stay out of Penang’s state affairs following Azmin’s statement recently on the two PKR representatives who were dropped from the state -owned agencies.

Lim also reminded the PKR deputy president that the principle of staying out of the state’s administration has been in practice since 2008 by the Opposition pact which was then known as Pakatan Rakyat.

Lim also questioned Mohamed Azmin’s statement on the matter and reminded him that the Opposition pact had always discussed issues internally.

Mohamed Azmin had yesterday spoken out against the DAP-led state government’s decision to sack two PKR state assemblymen Ong Chin Wen (Bukit Tengah) and Cheah Kah Peng (Kebun Bunga) from their positions at the agencies.

Mohamed Azmin told The Star yesterday that PKR’s central political bureau reached a decision two weeks ago to send an official letter to the state government and Lim on the party's stand.

“We stand by them for playing their part as responsible assemblymen to represent the voice of the people and to provide check and balance.

He also urged the state government to reconsider its decision.
