Heng said with the oath, PAS brings the idea of splitting up wedded couples to new heights.
MCA Wanita chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie has lashed out at PAS for its insistence in implementing the ba'iah oath if its representatives join another political party.
Under the oath of allegiance, the representatives have promised to divorce their wives with the triple talak.
Heng said with the oath, PAS brings the idea of splitting up wedded couples to new heights.
In a press statement today, she said the dissolution of any nuptial must be decided and agreed upon solely by the affected husband and wife with the courts formalising the separation.
“Under no circumstances should divorce be unilaterally announced or determined by any external quarters be they marriage counsellors, divorce lawyers, Menteri Besar or religious authorities,” she said.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yaakob had asked Kuala Krai MP Dr Hatta Ramli to refer to the Kelantan Syariah High Court on the issue of “triple talak” since the Hatta is no longer with PAS.
Ahmad also said with the taklik pronouncement by Dr Hatta , his relationship with his wife is now void.

Heng said the wing is concerned over the welfare of the spouse, in particular the wife and the couple’s children with such oaths.
“With this bai’ah oath and unilaterally declaration by Ahmad that Dr Hatta’s divorce is automatic, overnight, PAS will be creating larger numbers of single mothers, children who will grow up without a father figure in their life,” she said.
“Why should PAS figuratively chain the wife and children to the husband’s political membership to an oath which is not cast in stone?,” she questioned.
“PAS subjugates its members’ spouse and children as collateral, to which, the latter are not at all signatory to at all,” she added.
In July, PAS Rantau Panjang chief, Abdul Fatah Harun had said bai'ah is not a new thing and has long been practised in the party, especially in Kelantan, where all elected representatives undertake an oath before the PAS Commissioner.
Before this, Abdul Fatah, in a critical post on his Facebook page, had said many Kelantan PAS elected representatives' wives will be divorcees soon.
