MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam wants Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties to stop meddling in the affairs of the MIC.
Dr Subramaniam when commenting on the presence of a number of BN component party leaders and MIC leaders at the Ponggal Festival organised by former MIC President Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, he said their action would further aggravate the situation in the party.
"There are some internal problems in the MIC and such problems need to be resolved internally. If there is a problem in a political party and if other BN component parties interfere, it would affect the unity and strength of BN," he told reporters at the closing ceremony of the Selangor Indian Women's Small Business Entrepreneurs Conference, here today.
Media reports said a number of BN component party leaders had attended the Pongal Festival organised by Palanivel in Brickfields on Monday and issued comments related to the MIC.
