Mohamad Kamil stressed that split in the movement never existed.
UMNO Kuala Kangsar acting chief Mohamad Kamil Shafie denied claims that there is a split in the party division.
He stressed that there was never a split in the movement after Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid was picked as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the seat.
“UMNO Kuala Kangsar is united and has shown their solidarity to work harder to ensure the BN’s victory,” he told Astro AWANI today.
“To me, the issue of a split in the division does not exist at all,” he added.
Mohamad Kamil was commenting on former UMNO Kuala Kangsar chief Datuk Ramly Zahari who is said to be upset following talks he is not helping in the by-election as he was not picked as a candidate.
Kamil who is also the Manong state assemblyman said certain quarters are unhappy to see the unity of UMNO in Kuala Kangsar.
“In politics, there is always an issue here and there. It is normal but can be solved easily,” he added.
He also said those spreading the rumours should stop doing so.

It was called following the death of its incumbent Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad from BN in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak on May 5.
The by-election will be held on June 18.
