'Subramaniam submitted 'falsified' meeting minutes to RoS' - Sothinathan

Sothinathan said this as the meeting chaired by Dr Subramaniam which decided that MIC President Datuk Seri G.Palanivel was no longer a party member based on Article 91 of the MIC Constitution was deemed 'invalid'.

He added that according to Article 56.2 of the MIC Constitution, only the party’s secretary-general was eligible to call for a CWC meeting on the president’s order. To date, no written requests were submitted.

In line with that, Sothinathan claimed that Dr Subramaniam who declared himself as the party’s acting president, had handed over a false meeting minutes to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) and the Press members.

“When a meeting minute is falsified then it becomes a lie. No such meeting was held.

“If it is true that such meeting took place and a letter was sent to the party’s secretary-general, then he should prove it by submitting the relevant evidences,” Sothinathan told reporters at a Press conference, here today.

When asked if the meeting was called by of A.Sakthivel who is recognised as the party’s ''secretary-general' in Subramaniam’s camp, Sothinathan said there was no such record of the meeting.

Article 91 of the MIC Constitution states that any matters pertaining to the party cannot be brought to court without the CWC’s agreement.

The MIC crisis erupted following differences in opinion between Palanivel and Dr Subramaniam following a notice issued by the RoS last Dec 5 directing the party to hold fresh elections for the three vice-presidential and 23 CWC posts.
