Tamrin Ghafar withdraws from PAS

It was reported that Tamrin was unhappy with PAS since the Selangor Menteri Besar issue.
Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) former chairman Mohd Tamrin Abdul Ghafar announced his withdrawal from PAS effective Wednesday.
The Malaysian Insider reported that Tamrin who is also the son of the former deputy prime minister had submitted a letter to the PAS Secretary-General to withdraw from the party.
“I hope that that the Yang Berbahagia Datuk will update my membership record based on this decision,” said Tamrin.
This matter was also confirmed by the PAS headquarters with the acceptance of the Tamrin’s letter with the heading ‘Menarik diri sebagai ahli PAS (Withdrawing as PAS member)’.
It was reported that Tamrin was unhappy with PAS since the Selangor Menteri Besar issue which witnessed a clash between the party and Pakatan Rakyat.
He had once said that should he leave PAS, he will never return to his original party, Umno.
Tamrin is rumoured to may join the Gerakan Anti-Perkauman (GAP), a new movement against racism.
GAP is an idea which had been mooted by him during a meeting in remmemberance of the date May 13 at the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall last year.
The movement will be launched in Petaling Jaya on Wednesday night.
