Teng's statement on hudud is his personal opinion - Selangor MB

Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the statement by state executive councillor from DAP, Datuk Teng Chang Kim, that PAS should leave Pakatan Rakyat if it failed to keep to its promise of not implementing an Islamic state and hudud was his personal opinion.

Azmin, who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president, said Teng's statement did not reflect Pakatan Rakyat's stance over the Islamic law, adding that any new suggestion or opinion on hudud would be discussed at the Pakatan Rakyat presidential council level.

"Normally, matters on (hudud) will only be decided after obtaining the consensus of all the component parties in Pakatan Rakyat," he told reporters, here, last night.

Earlier, Azmin had presented prizes to the winners of the Clean Mini Zone competition organised by Shah Alam City Council.

Teng, who is Sungai Pinang assemblyman, through his Facebook posting commenting on PAS' insistence on implementing hudud in Kelantan, said: "If you can't keep your promise of not implementing an Islamic state and hudud while staying in Pakatan Rakyat, you just get out."
