The second meeting of the fourth term of the Terengganu state assembly proceeded smoothly after deliberating for three hours at the Wisma Darul Aman here today.
Speaker Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong adjourned the sitting at 12.30pm after Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman submitted the motion after all the orders of the day have been completed.
All the assembly members in the 32-seat state assembly attended the sitting except for Rhu Rendang assemblyman Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who is currently in Turkey.
The assembly proceeded without any untoward incident, contrary to speculations that there would be a reshuffle, crossovers and a motion of no confidence against Ahmad Razif today.
When met after the meeting was adjourned, Ahmad Razif said the political crisis in Terengganu has come to an end.
“As I’ve said before, I need to be confident that no problems will arise during the proceeding and that the political crisis in Terengganu has been resolved.
“Only several matters remain and I am confident it too can be resolved. As such I don’t see any problems,” he said.
Ahmad Razif further explained that the Barisan Nasional (BN) state government under his administration will continue to champion the people’s development agenda.
“What’s important now is for us to move forward to ensure the people’s development agenda is given priority,” he said.
