Three progressive members secure spots in PAS Central Committee

Three candidates from the progressive faction who lost in the PAS election early this month has been appointed to the party's Central Working Committee for the 2015-2017 sessions.
They are PAS former information chief, Datuk Mahfuz Omar, PAS vice-president Salahudin Ayub and ex-Central Committee member Mohd Taufek Abdul.
This was announced by PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man today at a press conference held at the PAS headquarters.
Also included were party vice-president Idris Ahmad and the secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan.
The other five vacancies were filled by Mohamad Husin, Muhtar Suhaili, Zainal Abidin Kidam, Datuk Wan Mutalib Embong and Dr Najihatul Salihah Ahmad.
For the PAS treasurer, Wilayah Persekutuan commissioner Mohamad Noor Mohamad was picked to replace the former,Asmuni Ani.
The former secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali was given the PAS election director post.
Mahfuz and Salahudin to be appointed as PAS vice president.
Meanwhile, Mohd Taufek who is also former Paroi state assemblyman had failed to secure a position during the nomination as a members of the PAS central committee.
Asked if the three candidates would be accepting the position, Tuan Ibrahim said that no rejection has been filed, so far.
"We have sent out the appointment letter last week and called them to inform them about the appointment.
"So far, we have yet to receive any replies, so we are assuming that they have accepted the appointment," said Tuan Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Datuk Mustafa Ali who had earlier held the position as the party's scretary-general had been appointed as elections director.
Kota Bharu MP, Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan has been appointed as secretary-general and Temerloh MP, Nasruddin Hassan was appointed PAS central information chief.
