WASHINGTON:  US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday (October 7) that all eligible minor children in the United States have now been automatically enrolled in "Trump Accounts," tax-free investment accounts created under his signature domestic policy legislation.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said the accounts are designed to help children build wealth from an early age and claimed they could leave many beneficiaries "quite rich" by adulthood. 

He also urged employers, companies and individuals to contribute to the accounts, saying more than 70 firms have already pledged support for the program.
