UMNO deputy and its vice-president as well as the party's high committee members have been urged to carefully manage the conflicts between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the former of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir, which had taken a turn for the worse.
Cheras UMNO Division chief, Datuk Seri Syed Ali Alhabshee said, UMNO leaders must meet Najib to hold a private meeting with Mahathir to reach an amicable solution on the matter.
“The High Committee has to control and make sure criticisms from Dr Mahathir don’t reach a point where party members and the citizen are divided. They just can’t remain silent that will harm the party.
“I believe UMNO deputy and vice-president must hold a meeting with Najib and Dr Mahathir to enlighten any issues that were raised. UMNO leaders have to find a way for them to meet to reach a consensus to prevent the controversy from further affecting harmony and multi-racial stability in the country.
“As for me, the former prime minister who leads UMNO also is faced with any kind of crisis but they have the solutions to solve the problem. The same goes to Dr Mahathir criticisms towards Najib, they will be a way and methods to find the solutions to handle it,” he said in his new post blog at http://umnobahagiancheras.blogspot.com.
Syed Ali also said that UMNO leaders have to stand tall with Najib to face Mahathir in seeking answers to what seemed to be a string of endless issues that have taken the spotlight until today. It is vital to not let it party interferences who want to take advantage on this conflict.”
He said, as the Head of UMNO Cheras Division, he has high regards for Dr Mahathir and regards him as his own father although he believes the latter has his own reasons to boldly criticise Najib openly.
Syed Ali said he also believes and trusts Najib’s administration in doing his utmost best to protect the interests of the Malays as well as all communities in the country.
“Those who heard Najib’s speech during the recent UMNO General Assembly should be able to grasp his sincerity protecting the Muslims and the Malays as well as protecting the interests of all citizens in the country.
“Najib is very sincere in his move. I thought there is no other leader in this world can share his thoughts and his mission with other people. For me, Najib is a visionary in ensuring the fate of the Malays will be protected.
