As a party that held strongly to the practice of democracy, UMNO had its own ways of resolving its internal issues, said Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
The Kedah Menteri Besar Kedah and state UMNO liason chief urged that the party's long-standing practices be continued in resolving problems in the party.
"As a party that strongly upholds democracy, let the existing processes be continued in determining the party's direction and in tackling arising issues," he told reporters, here, today.
He was asked on UMNO's 69th anniversary Monday and on efforts that party members could undertake in resolving the internal issues faced by the party currently.
Mukhriz said UMNO had its own ways of resolving the party's internal quarrel but not necessarily be shared with the public.
He hoped that UMNO's anniversary celebration today would boost the spirit of over three million party members in continuing the struggle of UMNO as the pillar of the Malay community in this country.
Mukhriz said UMNO members should continue to strive to maintain the party's position as the main pillar of the Barisan Nasional ruling government.
