UMNO sec-gen has power to sack members who violate constitution - Tg Adnan

Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said as the UMNO secretary-general, he has the power to sack members who violate the party's constitution.

This means sacking members without referring the case to the UMNO Supreme Council or the UMNO Disciplinary Board.

This could be used against members who violated Article 20.7 of the UMNO constitution or pursued matters in court, he told reporters after opening a Brainstorming Conference for Putrajaya mosque and 'surau' officials here, Saturday.

Tengku Adnan said he was ready to be sued as he was not guilty and acted in accordance with the UMNO rules and constitution.

"If she (Anina Saadudin) wants to sue me, I accept it," he added.
