UMNO Youth submits candidates list for Kuala Kangsar by-election
The Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election will be held on June 18.
UMNO Youth has submitted a list of names of young candidates to contest in the Kuala Kangsar by-election on June 18.
Its deputy head Khairul Azwan Harun said the list was presented to the movement's head Khairy Jamaluddin to be submitted to the party's top leadership.
He said each time there was a general election or by-election, it would be the responsibility of the UMNO Youth head and the movement's top leadership to submit names of UMNO Youth members who were deemed credible candidates.
"Of course we will submit names of candidates, and Khairy has done it. The list of names are of local and overseas leaders," he told reporters here Sunday.
The Kuala Kangsar by-election is being held after its member of Parliament Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad was killed in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak on May 5.
Also killed was Sungai Besar Member of Parliament Datuk Noriah Kasnon who was Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities. The by-election for her constituency will also be held on the same date.
In PETALING JAYA, Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Mas Ermieyatie Samsudin said the wing would be mobilising its machinery to help the BN campaign for both by-elections.
"Though it will be the fasting month, I am confident the coalition (Barisan Nasional) will not have any problem winning the hearts of voters," she said.
She was speaking to reporters after launching 'Buffet Ramadan@The Club' in Bukit Utama.
