The UMNO Youth will be the marketing agent for Barisan Nasional candidate Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid to ensure her win in the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election, said the movement's vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun.
He said the Umno Youth machinery would meet voters in the constituency to counter the numerous accusations made against her in the social media.
"We don't feel it will be difficult to campaign for Mastura, we will ensure voters pick the BN candidate at this by-election," he said when met by reporters at the Job & Career Fair at Safari Resort here Thursday.
He was commenting on constraints facing Mastura, who is still in mourning following the death of her husband and incumbent Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad in a helicopter mishap in Sebuyau, Sarawak, last May 5.
On accusations made against Mastura in the social media, Khairul Azwan said voters in Kuala Kangsar knew her better.
The Election Commission has fixed this Sunday for nomination and polling is on June 18.
In another development, Khairul Azwan said 5,000 job opportunities would be offered at the Job & Career Fair to be held at Dataran Pavilion here on June 11 and 12.
He said the event, involving the participation of 100 employers, would be organised by the BN Youth movement with the cooperation of the Department of Labour.
