Why the fear on MUDA's registration, Syed Saddiq questions

Syed Saddiq said they will now focus on MUDA's registration first and not so much about forming new political coalitions.
KUALA LUMPUR:"Why be afraid of the registration of MUDA (Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia)?" the co-founder of MUDA, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman questions.
The Muar Member of Parliament said if it is true that MUDA is a splinter party, a "mosquito" party and has no influence, why is it difficult to approve the registration of the party.
"If you really sincerely want to strengthen the country's democracy, uphold the Constitution, there is no reason to block MUDA's registration.
“Especially when there are older and more experienced leaders who say this MUDA party is a mosquito party and will die just like that. If it is true that we will die just like that, leave it in the hands of the people, in the ballot box.
"Not because of the restrictions of democracy, but (they are) afraid that if MUDA is registered, we might get the support of the people," he said in a special interview with Astro AWANI on Thursday.
The former Minister of Youth and Sports said this when commenting on the issue of the rejection of MUDA's registration by the Registrar of Societies Department of Malaysia (RoS).
In fact, he did not rule out the possibility of the party's registration being rejected due to the recent volatile political situation in the country.
"If they follow the current political temperature, maybe because of political sentiments, they have to reject because maybe they do not want to see the rise of young people.
"But in this case, I hope that they will follow democracy and uphold the Federal Constitution, especially if the rejection does not provide reason or argument," he added.
Moving forward, Syed Saddiq said they will now focus on MUDA's registration first and not so much about forming new political coalitions.
