Pendang UMNO division is confident that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will be able to carry out his duties well as party acting deputy president in ensuring UMNO's continuity.
Division chief, Datuk Paduka Md Rozai Safian said their confidence was based on the capability and excellent performance shown by Ahmad Zahid although he was appointed as deputy prime minister only some months ago.
"Pendang UMNO supports and will give full cooperation in matters related to his tasks," he said in a statement, here, today.
Md Rozai also said that the partnership of Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah as the Kedah UMNO Liaison Committee chairman and Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid as the deputy chairman would have a positive impact on returning public confidence in Barisan Nasional.
"We also wish to thank Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir for his services and good deeds for Pendang UMNO during his tenure as menteri besar and Kedah UMNO liaison chief," he added.
