Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi promised to suggest that Selangor be allocated two cabinet ministers if UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) were to recapture the state in the next general election.
"Make sure that UMNO and BN win back Selangor and add the Parliamentary seats that we have lost.
"God-willing I will advice the Prime Minister to appoint two full minister's from Selangor," he said when officiating the Petaling Jaya UMNO divisional meeting in Petaling Jaya Selatan on Monday.
Ahmad Zahid who is also an UMNO vice-president, said this is because there was no full minister's post held by any Selangor BN leader currently.
He also reminded UMNO members to not ignore those who refused to work with UMNO and BN.
"I have reports of component party members who do not want to work with us anymore.
"Do not mind them, work harder, strengthen the people's confidence in UMNO and BN.
"We helped them (BN component party members) in their area, so they have to help us in our area," he added.
Earlier, Ahmad Zahid has called on Selangor UMNO leaders to emerge from their comfort zone and serve the people in the state to recapture Selangor in the 14th general election (GE14).
He said Selangor UMNO leaders should change their attitude and thinking in order to win the hearts and mind of the voters.
