Representatives from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) cannot be a part of the National Football Development Programme (NFDP) if suspended former FAM deputy president Tan Sri Annuar Musa
remains in the committee.
FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) had informed the FAM that the body cannot be associated with the NFDP if Annuar remained in the committee.
"However, if Annuar decides to withdraw, a FAM representative can serve in the committee while Annuar can be a part of the committee after his suspension expires on Oct 4, 2014.
"I have informed the Youth and Sports Minister and the National Sports Council (NSC) of AFC's decision through a letter on Friday," he told reporters during a briefing for the 2014 M-League, here, Sunday.
Annuar had earlier received a letter of his appointment to the NFDP committee from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
However, the FAM claimed that his (Annuar) appointment to the committee was not acceptable since the Ketereh Member of Parliament's suspension was still in force.
Annuar who is currently the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) advisor was suspended for 30-months by the FAM after finding him guilty of issuing statements to the media without prior approval from the association.
