Asia's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organisation, ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC) will be optimizing its social media presence through a team up with social media giant, Facebook.
The deal will witness ONE FC offering live social media integration with the latter's global TV broadcast that spans over more than 70 countries across the world.
ONE FC CEO Victor Cui said the collaboration with the social media giant is exciting on so many levels, as Facebook is clearly the leading social media platform in the world today.
"With more than 99 percent of our fans around the world already following us and interacting with us through Facebook, the decision to integrate social media data on our live global broadcast is a natural step forward as we forge ahead as the largest sports media property in the history of Asia,” he said.
Meanwhile, Facebook's Head of Public Content Partnerships (APAC) Ken Cheung, said that people love talking about sports on Facebook – whether it's motorsports, the World Cup, or MMA.
"We are excited to work with ONE FC to extend the conversations that happen onsite at ONE FC events and bring that online on to Facebook,” he said in a statement on Monday.
The team up is expected boost up ONE FC’s next blockbuster event in Singapore, ONE FC: Battle Of Lions, which is scheduled to be held on November 7, 2014.
It will see a new hosted segment featuring social media data by Facebook integrated with ONE FC’s global broadcast on TV and the in-arena experience.
Besides that, fans in the arena will be able to keep in touch with what global fans are saying about the fights through a special live Facebook segment presented by Ms Universe Malaysia 2013 1st runner up, Natalia Tang Ling.
Global fans are also invited to join in the action with live updates on ONE FC’s official Facebook page and a live Q&A segment hosted by MMA superstar, Rich Franklin by using the hashtag #ONEFIGHTNIGHT.
Apart from that, ONE FC will be arranging an exclusive Instameet with popular Instagrammers in Singapore ahead of the fight.
The Instameet will allow a select group of Instagrammers to have a peek behind-the-scenes of ONE FC before the doors of the Singapore Indoor Stadium are open to public.
ONE FC currently has 1.4 million followers on Facebook with pages by hundreds of signed fighters, thousands of active fans, plus fresh new content and behind-the-scenes footage daily.
Facebook has become the leading platform for MMA fans to interact with the largest MMA promotion in Asia.
