KUALA LUMPUR: Astro Sports Pack subscribers can look forward to three new sports channels – Astro Supersport 5, Astro Arena 2 and South Korean-based SPOTV – from 1 October 2021.
Astro Supersport 5 (CH815) will showcase some of the top global sporting events such as UFC, Formula 1, Bundesliga, ATP Tour and more, while sports fan can enjoy the likes of MotoGP, Wimbledon and the US Open on SPOTV CH816).
As for Astro Arena 2 (CH802), it will feature edgy and localised coverage of international sports and sports news updates for Malaysian sports fans, as well as live studio presentations for WWE, BWF and more in new formats that appeal to younger fans.
Just like the first Astro Arena channel, it will also be available on the Family Pack for all Astro customers to enjoy.
All the three new channels will be available at no extra cost.
Meanwhile, FOX Sports, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Sports 3 will cease broadcast after 30 September 2021 as part of Disney’s strategy to discontinue certain linear channels in this region.
Besides that, Astro will also be strengthening its content offering with new linear channels in the Family, Movies, Variety and Learning Packs including HBO Family, HBO Hits, SHOWCASE MOVIES, BBC Lifestyle, BBC Earth, Paramount Network, Lifetime and PRIMEtime commencing 15 September 2021.
In addition, On Demand connected customers can expect two additional BBC offerings, BBC First and BBC Brit, for even more TV dramas and variety programs from mid-October onwards.
