The insulting banner raised during the charity match between Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) and Pahang in Johor Baharu on Saturday did not portray the culture practised by Malaysians.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir said the action of several JDT supporters who raised a banner showing images of two dogs was insulting and disrespectful.
"I strongly disagree with the incident at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium. The banner was well planned," he told reporters after presenting rewards to Kedah athletes who excelled at 2014 Malaysia Games, here today.
At the event, Mukhriz, who is also Kedah Football Association (KFA) president, launched the Kedah Menteri Besar Cup football tournament.
He urged those dissatisfied with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to use the existing regulations and not to be emotional.
"Action by the Johor Football Association banning JDT supporters involved in the incident at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium from entering the stadium for life must be supported."
