National number one men's squash player Ong Bee Hee cruised into the quarter-final of the 2013 Motor City Open in Detroit, United States on Saturday.
Bee Hee, who is defending champion, outplayed Ryan Cuskelly of Australia 6-11, 14-12, 11-7 and 12-10 at the Birmingham Athletics Club to book his place in the last eight.
Commenting on the match, the 32-year old Penangite said his victory against the Aussie player in the second set changed the whole game.
"I was a little bit tense because it was the first match of a very big tournament and I won it last year, so the pressure was high.
"Ryan actually played really well and didn't make many mistakes. It was just maybe my day today," he was quoted as saying in the tournament's website; www.squashsite.co.uk.
Beng Hee, however, has an uphill task as he will be up against top seed, Mohamed El-Shorbagy of Egypt in the quarter-final, later today.
The Egyptian, the 2011 champion, eased into quarter-final after he defeated qualifier, Abdullah Al-Mezayen of Kuwait; 11-9, 11-6 and 11-5 in another first round match.
