The salary balance demand issue involving Under 22 (U-22) squad coach Frank Bernhardt with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) was settled at a closed-door meeting at Wisma FAM, today.
FAM Secretary-General Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the issue was successfully settled after the German-born coach met him today.
He said FAM had declined to comment on the issue prior to this because it did not want to disturb the negotiation and discussion process with Bernhardt.
"The settlement and decision made today was also agreed to by FAM president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim who was happy that the issue did not have to be prolonged," said Hamidin in his latest entry in the FAM Facebook.
FAM appointed Bernhardt on a two-year contract in 2015 to handle the national U-22 squad to face the 2017 SEA Games in August but his service was terminated after Tunku Ismail won the FAM president's post uncontested at the parent body's annual congress on March 25.
Tunku Ismail also announced that Datuk Ong Kim Swee, who, prior to this handled the national squad, was appointed the U-22 squad''s coach while Nelo Vingada of Portugal was appointed as the new national chief coach.
