It was a true display of friendship when Borussia Dortmund offered their condolence following the demise of Tunku Laksamana of Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar Sultan Ibrahim on Saturday.
"Borussia Dortmund would like to send their deepest sympathies to His Royal Highness (Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim) on the demise of his beloved brother and to all our friends in Malaysia," said the team on their official Facebook, just before their match.
Dortmund and the Johor Southern Tigers are partners in developing and nurturing talented Malaysian children in the field of football.
Tunku Abdul Jalil passed away on Saturday due to liver cancer. He was 25.
The young Johor royal breathed his last at 7.11pm at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru.
His remains were buried at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum Sunday afternoon.
