ONE Heavyweight world champion Brandon 'The Truth' Vera says becoming a two-division world champion has always been his dream as a mixed martial artist.
The 41-year-old Filipino-American also admitted that it's an honour to be going against ONE Light Heavyweight and Middleweight World Champion, Aung La N Sang.
“In my entire career, I’ve dreamed of becoming a two-division World Champion and competing in Japan. Next week, I have the chance to fulfill both of those dreams.
"This is such a huge fight for me, the biggest in my career so far," he said.
Vera will be facing Aung La this October 13 for the ONE Light Heavyweight championship world title in the main event of at ONE: CENTURY PART II at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
'I’ve trained very hard for this fight and I’m ready. It’s going to be an action-packed bout between two come-forward warriors,” he added.
It's been almost a year since Vera last entered the ONE Championship Circle.
In his last fight, he successfully defended his ONE Heavyweight World Championship after defeating his Mauro Cerilli from Italy at ONE: Conquest Of Champions, in Manila.
Vera made quick work of Cerilli, stopping his opponent with a well-placed left hook counter to the jaw that knocked out the Italian at 1:01 minute of the first round.
Now, he is ready for another world title as he goes down one weight class to face 'The Burmese Python'.
