Brazil has upper hand in friendly against Colombia

Brazil and Colombia will meet for the 25th time on Wednesday night, at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Colombia has only won two of their previous encounters with the five-time World Cup winners.

Brazil, in contrast, have recorded 15 wins over Colombia.

Colombia, currently ranked ninth in the world, two places behind Brazil, will be led by Radamel Falcao - considered to be one of the top strikers in the world.

Over the past three seasons, Falcao has scored over 100 goals for Atletico Madrid, Porto and River Plate.

There has been speculation that the 26-year old Atletico Madrid star may leave during the January transfer window.

However, Falcao pointed out on Tuesday that he still has a few years left on his contract with Atletico Madrid.

In 2011, Falcao became the first player in history to win two consecutive European titles with two different teams - the Europa League with Porto and then Atletico - while at the same time becoming the top goal scorer for those teams.

Brazil's squad were put through their paces after Colombia on Tuesday afternoon.

Hulk and Adriano are injured and will not play, but Kaka and rising star Neymar will be on the pitch.

At age 19, Neymar won the 2011 South American Footballer of the Year award.

The friendly with Colombia marks a milestone for Brazil - the 1000th game in the South American powerhouse's history.

Though Brazil have dominated meetings with its South American rival, manager Mano Menezes said Colombia are a much improved side.
