China retain Uber Cup

Defending champions, China retained Uber Cup in the 2014 edition of the prestigious badminton tournament for women after beating Japan 3-1 in the final at the Siri Fort Indoor Stadium here today.
China's first and world's best singles, Xi Xuerui defeated Minatsu Mitani 21-15, 21-5 in 36 minutes.
However, Japan's first doubles Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi brought the points to a 1-1 tie when they thrashed Bao Yixin/Tang Jinhua 21-18, 21-9.
China;s second singles, Wang Shixian won the match against Sayaka Takahashi in 21-16, 21-12 to put them in the lead again.
Their second doubles Zhao Yunlei/Wang Xiaoli brushed aside Miyuki Maeda/Reika Kakiiwa in 21-13, 21-6 in 37 minutes for the winning point to retain the title.
China boast the world's top three singles women shuttlers and the top two women's doubles. This is China's 13th title in the tournament.
