Chong Wei books ticket to quarter-finals of All-England

World number one men's singles shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei has booked a berth in the quarter-finals of the All-England Badminton Championship in Birmingham.
Chong Wei, who was also the top seed in the championship, ousted Taiwanese player Wang Tzu Wei 21-18, 21-18 in the second round Thursday.
The 34-year-old will square off against 2009 World Youth champion Tian Houwei of China in the last eight.
The 25-year-old Chinese player, who is ranked sixth in the world, had beaten H.S. Prannoy of India in straight sets of 21-13, 21-5 to book his meeting with Chong Wei.
Besides Chong Wei, four national doubles pairs are set to fight it out to wrest slots to the quarter-finals after the second round matches early today.
The national top men's doubles, who are currently number one in the world, Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong will face China's pair of Liu Xiaolong/Xu Chen while the national women's pair of Vivian Hoo/Woon Khe Wei will meet the South Korean pare of Jung Kyung Eun/Shin Seung Chan, who are seeded third.
Mixed doubles Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying, who are sixth seeded, will face Zhang Nan/Li Yinhui of China while Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing will face off against Yoo Yeon Seong/Kim Ha Na of South Korea. - BERNAMA
