Chong Wei clinches India Open title
World number one Datuk Lee Chong Wei lived up to his top billing by winning the Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2013 men's singles title by beating Japan's Kenichi Tago 21-15, 18-21, 21-17 after a three-set thriller.
Chong Wei who had won the title in 2011 and lost it to South Korea's Shon Wan Ho last year, was in his element today, to defeat his Japanese opponent who put up a spirited display at the Siri Fort Sports Complex in New Delhi, India.
The Malaysian number one was the only Malaysian left standing in New Delhi following the defeats of mens doubles second seeds Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong and mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying, in the quarterfinals.
