World number one men's singles shuttler, Datuk Lee Chong Wei is the sole Malaysian survivor in the 2014 Japan Open Super Series Badminton Tournament at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

Chong Wei, who is the top seed will however, face a tricky semi-final match against fourth seed, Japanese Kenichi Tago tomorrow.
Kenichi was earlier, forced to play in a rubber set before defeating the young Dane, Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, 21-16, 16-21 and 21-13 in a 68-minute match.
It was however, the end of the road for Hoon Thien How and Tan Wee Kiong who lost 16-21 and 19-21 against the top seeded Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia in the men's doubles category.
Malaysia's sole representative in the women's doubles, Vivian Hoo Kah Mun and Woon Khe Wei lost in the second round match yesterday.
