Delia marches into main draw of World Open
Malaysia's Delia Arnold booked her berth in the main draw of the Women's World Open in Cayman Islands, on Saturday.
The 26-year-old Delia took 51 minutes to defeat Tesni Evans of Wales in straight sets of 11-9, 13-11 and 11-8.
"It was really hot and bouncy, even more than at home in Malaysia. "I'd never played Tesni before and she has some tricky shots, so in the first two games I was never sure where the ball was going, but it was better in the third (game).
"I haven't had to qualify for a while, so it is good to get off in three games, looking foward to tomorrow (Sunday) now," said Delia as quoted in the competition official website, www.worldopensquash.com.
Delia will be meeting 13th seed Dipika Pallikal of India in the first round match.
While Malaysia's world number one, Datuk Nicol Ann David will start her campaign for her seventh world title Sunday.
Nicol, the top seed, will play the opening match against unseeded Egypt's Omneya Abdel Kawy, while another Malaysian in the main draw was the world number seventh, Low Wee Wern who will play against England's Sarah Kippax.
