Malaysian men's doubles crack pair Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong have made it to the final of the Denmark Open.
In the semifinals action at the Odense Sports Park, Copenhagen Saturday, they outgunned the hosts' pair of Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen, who are seeded second, 20-22, 21-15 and 21-11 in 57 minutes, according to the Badminton World Federation's bwf.tournamentsoftware.com website
They are the only Malaysians left standing in the tournament after national singles ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei, the world number one, lost to Brice Leverdez of France, ranked 38th in the world, in 21-17, 20-22 and 21-19 in the quarterfinals earlier Saturday.
V Shem/Wee Kiong will be up against Thai pair Bodin Isara/Nipitphon Phuangphuapet in the final Sunday.
The Thai pair had beaten seventh seeded Indonesian pair Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwardi 21-11 and 21-18 in the other semifinal tie. -- BERNAMA
