Rookie drivers of the 2013 Formula One (F1) Championship expect the hot weather will help them to find more speed from their cars even though no one has run the tyres in this conditions before.
The five rookies are Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton of Marussia F1 Team, Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber F1 Team), Valtteri Bottas (Williams F1 Team) and Giedo van der Garde (Caterham F1 Team).
The 21-year-old Gutierrez said the weather in Sepang was varying a lot and it played a big role in how the race will turn out but he will try his best to show a good performance.
"For a race like this (with the heat), there's not really much training you can do...you can do heat chamber work, you can do a bit of that which will help but the main thing is making sure your body is always hydrated to its absolute maximum," the Mexican driver told a press conference at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Media Centre, here today.
For Chilton, who have raced twice at(SIC), thinks that it is a very challenging circuit which have a long, high-speed flowing corners especially on some technical stuff to get out of the corner onto a long straight route.
"The main thing with this circuit is the heat but I can tell that this year, the weather is better than last year, it does not feel as hot as last year so we just need to focus on getting the most out of the car and beating our rivals," said Chilton, who has raced in GP2 at Sepang Circuit.
The weather not only gave the rookies difficulties to race but also physical challenge which is a lot tougher than other countries where acclimatisation is concerned.
As for Van Der Garde the weather at Sepang Circuit was unpredictable.
"You never know how the weather is going to be. I think we look quite strong. I have to say...I hope for a bit of rain here.
"And then the next two races we know we still have the same car and in Barcelona, we'll get upgrade. So let's see where we are then," said the Caterham F1 driver from the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Finland's Bottas noted that he does not have any special preparation to cope with the heat but he would try to acclimatise to the hot and humid weather.
