Kelantan defender, Nik Shahrul Azim Abdul Halim apologises to the supporters of The Red Warriors (TRW) following their 1-3 defeat to Singapore team Lions XII in the final of the 2015 FA Cup in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
More warmly known as Pok Nik, he said all preparations had been made by TRW for the important match but luck was not on their side.
"I apologise to all supporters, the defeat is not what we want but anybody can make a mistake.
"We can only plan but God decides, again I apologise...I was definitely prepared to play and had no emotional disturbance during the match but this is football, full of surprises," he said when contacted Sunday.
Nik Shahrul Azim thanked coach Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah for having faith in fielding him for the final.
"I have given the best, but we have no luck this year..we had many chances to score last (Saturday) night.
"Thanks too, to my teammates, who gave me their support. I could not sleep thinking of our defeat to Lions XII," he said.
Lions XII emerged champions of 2015 FA Cup after beating Kelantan 3-1 in the final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur Saturday night.
Lions XII, who were the underdogs, scored in the sixth minute via winger, Muhammad Faris Ramli before Kelantan equalised in the 62nd minute through Wan Zack Haikal Wan Noor.
Substitute player, Mohd Sahil Suhaimi emerged the hero of Lions XII when he scored the team's second goal in the 81st minute and converted a penalty kick during injury time in the 94th minute.
