FAM knocks down ticket prices for Merdeka Cup

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to reduce the price of tickets for the Merdeka Cup starting tomorrow, to attract more fans to the stadium.

FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the decision was made after discussions with the organiser of the tournament, ProEvents International (M) Sdn Bhd.

He said the prices of tickets for terrace and grand stand at the Darul Makmur Stadium have been reduced from the initial price of RM38 and RM68 to RM20 and RM50 respectively.

"As for the match between Singapore and Myanmar at the Temerloh Mini Stadium, terrace and grand stand tickets are priced at RM20 and RM25 respectively, compared wit the initial price of RM28 and RM38. "I hope the reduction of ticket prices will attract more fans to the stadium, especially from Pahang," Hamidin told reporters, here, today.

As for earlier complaints that ticket prices were high, Hamidin said such issues cannot be avoided since organising such tournaments incur a huge sum of money," he said.
