FAM replies showcause letter from Sports Commissioner

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has replied to the show cause letter from the Sports Commissioner's office on the fracas during the 2018 World Cup/2019 Asia Cup qualifiers between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin confirmed receiving the letter at 3.30pm today but did not divulge the contents of the letter as he had not seen it since he was attending the Malaysian Youth Parliament (PBM) at Dewan Rakyat today. "I am told the show cause letter was sent to Datuk Zaiton Othman and I leave it to her to read the letter," he told reporters after winding up debate on the third session of the PBM. FAM was given 14 days from Sept 9 to reply to the show cause letter on the commotion at the Shah Alam Stadium on Sept 8. The directive issued by Khairy also said failure to reply to the letter in the stipulated period given or giving a non-satisfactory answer would risk FAM being suspended by the Sports Commissioner.
