The move by Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah to resign as president of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is seen as only worsening the situation.
Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) president, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said FAM should adopt a more open attitude in overcoming the existing weaknesses while the fans should not continue to punish FAM.
"Tengku Abdullah's move to resign as president of FAM is gentlemanly. However, he is not solely to be blamed as FAM is collective.
"His resignation will worsen the situation in FAM. What is important is action to repair it," he said via his Facebook page, Monday.
Annuar said Tengku Abdullah had contributed a lot to national and international football and hoped the latter would think of the move to quit FAM as deeply as possible.
Tengku Abdullah on Monday stated his wish to step down as president of FAM following the national squad, Harimau Malaya's 10-0 loss to United Arab Emirates, recently.
