The Football Association of Selangor (FAS) has dropped its claim on Nazri Ahmad, a player wanted by the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA).
Players Status Committee chairman of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said the FAS dropped the claim via a letter to the FAM on Wednesday.
"We have received a letter from the FAS to drop the claim via the FAM secretary-general (Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin) as they can resolve the matter with KAFA.
"The KAFA general secretary today confirmed that the issue is closed. Nazri belongs to KAFA for the 2014 season," he told reporters after the Players Status Committee committee meeting at Wisma FAM, Thursday.
Meanwhile, KAFA general secretary Azman Ibrahim said the problem was amicably solved because they did not want to strain ties with the FAS.
Azman said former Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) player Nazri had sent an apology letter to the FAS.
Defender Nazri,23, had allegedly signed a contract with the FAS but instead decided to don Kelantan colours for the coming season.
