Zinedine Zidane's first match in charge of Real Madrid's reserve side ended in defeat as they were beaten 2-1 by Atletico Madrid B on Sunday.
The former World Player of the Year worked as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant as Real won the Champions League and Copa del Rey last season and is following in the footsteps of Pep Guardiola by beginning his career in management in the Spanish third tier.
And the Frenchman looked set for a fine start as Raul de Tomas gave his Castilla side a half-time lead.
However, two goals in eight second-half minutes from Daniel Aquino and Sekou Keita gave Atletico their second victory over Real in three days after the senior side beat Real to win the Spanish Super Cup on Friday.
