Rising star Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin is on track for bigger things, according to Malaysian badminton superstar Datuk Lee Chong Wei. Chong Wei, who defeated Iskandar 21-18, 21-11 in the men's singles final of the Malaysian Masters Grand Prix Gold (GP Gold) badminton championship at the SPICE Arena here today, said the 2009 World Junior Championships runner-up must now up his game to take on the world's best.
"He is showing real potential and now must raise his game. I spoke to him just now and impressed upon him that to be a world beater one must have the attitude that being good is not good enough," he said.
Meanwhile, Iskandar said he appreciated the words of advice from his "elder brother" and hoped badminton fans would continue to support him.
"I have been given an opportunity by Frost(Badminton Association of Malaysia Technical Director Morten Frost) to prove myself. I hope to go far," he said.
